The MD-8 BRAVO is similar in function to the standard MD-8 except that it has one additional feature important in certain areas of the world, that is a mineralized soil discriminating filter to enable the user to effectively filter out the interference caused by some soils with mineralized ground, thereby enabling a clearer mine detection signal to be generated. The equipment is fully self calibrating and is manufactured to NATO MILSPEC standards. As usual the unit is totally sealed and has no external cables or wires. It will detect all currently deployed minimum metal AT and AP, so called "plastic" mines.
